We founded "SUP Rental Hamburg" during the Corona period. Quarantine makes inventive! We love Stand Up Paddling (SUP) and as a young start-up we have set ourselves the goal of sharing this hobby with you. We offer the best price-performance ratio in Hamburg! Stand-up paddling is fun, exciting and amazing at the same time. As a stand-up paddler, you can explore Hamburg, the Alster and the associated canals in a unique way on the SUP board. With our mobile SUP equipment which you can rent here at the oak park, right on the banks of the Alster, you can learn stand up paddling easily and without having any prior knowledge.

Online booking
1. Select date
- Click on the calender icon to select the date.
2. Choose time
- Select either "Book SUP and equipment" (preselected) or "Book equipment only" if only equipment or other is needed. Afterwards you can choose the right time by clicking on the arrows.
3. Check availability and select SUPs
- You can now see the availability choose as many SUPs as you want. After adding the amount click on the kayak icon (shopping cart) at the bottom right and on "Go to checkout" to book extras, then enter your contact details.
4. Book it
- The booking will be completed with the online payment process and you will be sent an email with all the details.

Stand Up Paddling - Where does the trend sport come from?
Nowadays, stand up paddling has become the fastest growing water sport, we can only confirm that at SUP Rental Hamburg. Depending on the intensity, you are physically active in nature and can do the sport in any age group. We all know why stand up paddling is so popular, but where did it actually come from? Well, there are several approaches to explain it. One of which claims that Polynesian fishermen moved standing in canoes. The probably most common one says that Hawaiian surf instructors move while standing, in order to be able to observe their surf students better and to get back to land faster from reefs. The sport only really began to develop in the early 2000s and since then stand up paddling can be regarded as an independent sport. At first, equipment from surfing was used, which is still remembered today by the holding leash. Gradually, the shape of the SUP board evolved and finally there were the iSUPs with which the sport spread faster than ever. As a SUP rental company, we committed ourselves to inflatable Stand Up Paddling Boards right from the start.

Important for beginners of stand up paddling
Just like probably you, we and many others have a lot of fun with water sports and especially stand up paddling. As a newcomer, you first should familiarize yourself with the technical basics and relevant regulations so that this can be the case for all water sports enthusiasts. Don't forget to bring with you clothes to change, sunscreen and, if necessary, a cap to protect yourself from the sun before you set off on your journey. In general, your clothing should be adapted to the weather conditions. For cool temperatures, neoprene material is recommended, you should not wear cotton.
When entering and exiting the water, avoid touching the ground as there could be dangerous objects on the bottom that could injure you. As a beginner on the SUP you will probably be more concerned with yourself than anything else. For this reason alone, it makes sense that you have a SUP experienced companion with you on your maiden voyage. This person can not only pay attention to how you are doing, but also to the lively shipping traffic and a large number of canoeists, sailors, rowers and other stand up paddlers.
